SpanNote terms of use

Last updated 28 October 2026. Back to SpanNote

These terms are between you and Kazi Abu Rousan, who makes SpanNote. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. How the app treats your data is on the privacy page.

The app

SpanNote is a notebook app for Android 10 and newer. You may install it from Google Play and use it on your own devices for your own notes, study and work. You may not copy, sell or rent the app itself, or take it apart to make another app from it.

Testing

For now SpanNote is a closed test on Google Play, open to selected testers only. Test versions can have bugs. Keep a backup of notes that matter to you (Settings › Local backup or Cloud backup) and tell us when something goes wrong, at spannotes@gmail.com.

Free and full app

  • Free: up to 5 notebooks, with up to 50 pages each. Every tool is included.

  • Full app, once: US\(9, one purchase. It removes the limits for good, with updates included, on the devices that use the Google account you bought it with. - **Full app, by the year:** US\)2.99 a year. It removes the limits while the subscription runs.

Google Play shows the price in your own currency. It may include local taxes. Prices may change in future. A change never affects what you have already paid for.

Nothing you wrote is ever locked. If you stop paying for the yearly plan, or never pay at all, you can still open, read, edit, export and back up every notebook. The limits only stop you adding more notebooks or pages past the free amount.

Payments, renewal and refunds

Payments are made through Google Play and follow Google Play's terms. We never see your card or payment details.

The yearly plan renews by itself each year until you cancel it. Cancel any time in the Google Play app (Profile › Payments and subscriptions › Subscriptions). It then stays active until the end of the year you paid for.

Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy. If something went wrong with a purchase, write to us as well and we will help where we can.

Your notes

Your notes, drawings, recordings and pictures are yours. They are stored on your device. They go only where you choose to back them up or sync them (a folder, your WebDAV server, your Google Drive or a GitHub repository you own). We do not receive them and claim no rights over them.

You are responsible for what you put in your notebooks and for having the right to use the pictures, PDFs and other files you add.

Other services

Backups and sync use services you choose, such as Google Drive, WebDAV servers or GitHub. Their own terms apply to them. Handwriting search uses Google's ML Kit, which runs on your device. The 3D anatomy models come from BodyParts3D (© The Database Center for Life Science, CC BY 4.0) and the emoji stickers from Noto Emoji (Apache 2.0).

Answers from the maths tools

The maths tools, graphs and readings of handwriting are made to be correct, but they can be wrong, especially for handwriting that is hard to read. Check results that matter, for example in an exam, an assignment or anything that affects money, health or safety.

No warranty

SpanNote is given as it is. We work to keep it reliable, but we cannot promise that it will always work without problems or keep every file safe on every device. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for lost notes or other loss from using the app. Keeping backups is the best protection.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we will say so in the app or in the release notes.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
